2020-2021 School Supply List

KINDERGARTEN

Students should have the following available for home learning. They do not need to be new!

  • either colored markers, colored pencils, or crayons
  • and a pair of kid safe scissors

When we return, we would also like to request $30 to purchase additional supplies to finish the school year with.
 

FIRST GRADE

To start our year with virtual instruction, students will need the following supplies  to complete assignments:

  • A set of 10 or 12 markers (no more than 12)
  • A set of 12 colored pencils ( no more than 12)
  • A box of 24 crayons ( no more than 24)
  • A pair of Fiskars kids scissors

When we return, we will supply pencil boxes for students to store the above supplies. At that time, we would also like to collect $25 from each student. This money will be put into a class “bank account” so we can purchase all remaining supplies and materials needed for the year.

SECOND GRADE

To start our year with virtual instruction, students will need the following supplies  to complete assignments:

  • pencil box to store supplies
  • 1 pack sharpened pencils 
  • pencil sharpener
  • big pink eraser
  • crayons and/or colored pencils
  • markers
  • paper
  • Fiskars kid scissors
  • ruler (inches and cm marked)
  • glue stick(s)

 
When we return to in-person instruction, please plan to bring the supplies listed above, a check for $15 (made out to "VLM" or cash) toward our class "bank account" to purchase additional materials needed for the year AND 

  • 1 dozen—new, sharpened pencils
  • 1 box full sized tissues
  • Girls- hand sanitizer with pump, Boys- Clorox disinfectant wipes
     

THIRD GRADE

To start our year with virtual instruction, students will need the following supplies  to complete assignments:

  • pencil box/bag to store supplies 
  • 1 pack sharpened pencils 
  • 4 wide ruled marble composition notebooks
  • 2 folders
  • pencil sharpener 
  • big pink eraser 
  • colored pencils/markers 
  • wide ruled loose-leaf paper 
  • Fiskars kid scissors 
  • ruler (inches and cm marked) 
  • glue stick(s) 
  • 1 pair of headphones/ear buds

When we return to in-person instruction, please plan to bring the supplies listed above, a check for $15 (made out to "VLM" or cash) toward our class "bank account" to purchase additional materials needed for the year AND 

  • 1 dozen—new, sharpened pencils 
  • 1 box full sized tissues

FOURTH GRADE

Updated March 5 - 

*Items Purchased Earlier in the Year which may need to be purchased anew:  In the beginning of the year, you purchased the following items for your student:

  • 1 Math Notebook
  • 1 Content (Science & Social Studies) Notebook
  • 1 Literacy (Reading and Word Study) Notebook
  • 1 Writing Journal
  • Pencils
  • Earbuds/Headphones (bring to school with computer)

Please check the status of these items.  If notebooks do not have about half of the pages left in them, please purchase back-up notebooks.  Please send your child with at least 2 pencils for use in class as well.

*New Materials:

  • FOLDER: Just a simple folder to keep papers in.  Plastic will be more sturdy than paper.
  • Markers, Crayons, Colored pencils (any of these) for students to be able to participate in Art Lessons & creative activities. Again, we cannot share classroom supplies.
  • A Good-Fit-Book for independent reading times. We will have Book Club books that will travel back and forth, but we are not sending classroom-library books home. Browsing of the classroom library is problematic with Covid. 
  • Labeled beach towel or yoga mat to keep at school for sitting on the floor and learning outside

    
*Outdoor Gear

  • A raincoat - for days when rain is in the forecast
  • Sturdy shoes that are appropriate for the weatherr
  • Lunchbox, water bottle, and a separate bag for your child’s snack. 
  • *optional Rain boots and Rain pants.
  • Hat and Gloves for cold weather
  • Warm winter coat
  • Boots rated for cold weather
  • Warm winter coat
  • Insulated or snow pants.
     

FIFTH GRADE

When we return to in-person instruction, please plan to bring the supplies listed above and these additions:

Updated March 5 - 

  • a 2” zippered binder
  • a zippered pencil pouch for inside binder
  • 5 plastic, two pocket folders (yellow, black, red, blue, and green - with no center metal brads)
  • a simple 4-function calculator
  • a hand held pencil sharpener
  • a set of ear buds/headphones
  • a small boxed set of colored pencils
  • a pack of loose leaf paper (wide ruled)
  • a pack of 3X5 blank index cards (blank/unruled)
  •  a mini-pack of personal tissues
  • 5 composition journals (four are already in use)
  • a water bottle
  • an extra mask
  • warm clothing – students will be outside everyday (“There is no such thing as bad weather; just bad clothing.”)
